I was thrilled when Ivan contacted me. I thought it was the most romantic thing. I mean, not many guys think to have their marriage proposal documented by a professional photographer! Normally, I meet the couple after they are engaged. It was so exciting to be in on it from this level!
So I met with Ivan a few days before to scope out the location and get ideas of where he should stand and where I should stand to photograph. He gushed over Valeri and how special she was. He said they had already been talking about how much they wanted to get married and even when they wanted to do it, so he needed to get the ball rolling! He had just picked up the ring from getting upgraded (good boy!) and told me he had gone shopping and bought them outfits so they would look cute in their pictures. When I asked him, “wouldn’t she think something was up when she saw some outfit you wanted her to wear on her that night.” He responds with, “no I have done that before.” I am thinking, who is this guy? As you can tell he is special. And these two are adorable!
When it came to the day Ivan was so nervous, everything we talked about, as to where to stand, went out the window. But we still got THE shot of him down on his knees! After they basqued in the excitement for a little while, we went off and took a mini engagement session. Congrats you guys!!! I so excited for you two! And thanks for letting me practice my super stealth photo taking abilities!
