couple months back I met Katie, Nick and Louie in Newport for their engagement session.

Nick and Katie’s wedding, which is tomorrow, is going to have a very vintage feel. So for their engagement session they wanted to continue that feeling with a 1920’s/Boardwalk Empire inspired shoot and still include one of their favorite past times, sailing.
We started our shoot on Balboa Island, cruising around the boardwalk, riding the ferris wheel and hanging out with their fur baby Louie. I absolutely love Balboa Island (partially because I am a huge Arrested Development fan and mostly because of my love of frozen bananas). I thought the location, along with Nicks white suit and hat, gave us a great vintage vibe.
After Balboa Island, we headed to the Yacht Club in Newport that Nick and Katie belong to, to capture some photos in a place they spend a lot of their time. Nick and Katie love sailing. In fact, Nick just took a test so he can take boats out on his own, I want to say he got his captains license, but I am not positive. For their honeymoon, the two are taking three weeks to sail through the Caribbean, just the two of them! Such a rad adventure and what an incredible way to see the Caribbean.
Another fun fact, Nick and all his groomsmen sailed to Catalina for his bachelor party.
I can’t wait for their wedding this weekend… I may just have to bust out my flapper outfit!
