Your senior year of high school can be such a fun time. But between SATs, applying for college, waiting to hear back from those colleges, and prom, you can be quite busy. And lets not forget your senior portraits! Among some of the stressful points in your senior year, this is a chance to have fun and relax a bit!
Photographing Addison’s senior portraits was so much fun. I first have to mention that I knew Addison when he and his family first moved to San Diego and started attending the same church my family attended, which was at least 12 years ago. He was so much younger then and when I saw him on the day of his high school senior portraits I couldn’t believe it was the same little kid. So grown up and mature.
I met Addison and his mom at Los Penasquitos Canyon, one of my go to spots to shoot. I love shooting in nature, not only does the golden grass reflect so nicely onto your skin, but it is just such a peaceful place to be. And since they were looking for a rustic location for his high school senior portraits, I thought it would be perfect. Addison had a big smile on his face that made it easy to shoot and even though he is such a fun, spunky guy, he has a great serious look too. We started out in a big grassy area with a more casual look. We talked about his senior year, his excitement for the upcoming homecoming and his adorable girlfriend, whose homecoming he had just gone to. I came to see that Addison isn’t the little kid I met him as, but is a strong Christian man who is witty and hilarious. We then finished up with an outfit and location change. I am so honored to have photographed him in his senior year!
