I met Cassie about ten years ago at church. She doesn’t know it, but I looked at her as one of the cool kids and immediately wanted to be friends with her. Everyone always gravitated towards her and her group of friends. Knowing her now, It is because she has the warmest most welcoming personality. I am so honored to call this girl my friend and sister!
When I heard Cassie was first dating Mateo I was super excited. The longer they dated, the more I anticipated hearing an engagement announcement. Anytime they would visit family in Tahoe or go on a trip, I assumed she would come back engaged! When it finally I was so thrilled for her! They had previously mentioned, “when we get married I want you to photograph it”, but like most people, I just thought they were being polite. So when they asked me to photograph their wedding in Tahoe I was honored! It is a great feeling when a friend looks at your work and values you for it. Even though I have been shooting professionally for over 5 years, I feel some of my friends still look at it as a hobby.
We started off with an Encinitas engagement session and what better spot then the place Cassie and Mateo made their amazing connection! Cassie and Mateo were introduced through a mutual friend one night at Saloon and really hit it off! I don’t think Cassie realized how that night would change the rest of her life. We wandered around downtown Encinitas, laughing, chatting and photographing (these two were the easiest to photograph because ever shot was a natural laugh!) and finished up at Moonlight beach, in their custom sweatshirts, an homage to the wedding location! Check out this adorable couple below! If your looking for Encinitas engagement photography, please give me a call or send over an email!
