Meet Momma Rake! She is the mom of the beautiful Rehkopf family, I think we know why her blog is called “momma rake” can you imagine if someone tried to type, momma Rehkopf…. Oi Vey all those letters! Anyway, I went to school with Marissa and her husband and was excited when then asked me to photograph their family! Marissa was wanting to get some Holiday shots as well as photos she could use for her amazing blog! Marissa spends her days raising her 2 adorable girls and writes about her daily ups, downs, blessings from God, recipes, crafts, and just about everything a mom could think about on her blog! If you are looking for a craft to do with your kids or an awesome recipe to rival Martha, check out her blog!
Sessions with younger children can be difficult. Especially 2 year olds! I know after our session Brooks and Marissa felt exhausted. I wanted to reassure them, this is COMPLEETY NORMAL! Almost all of my session with children under 4years old are like this; Me cashing them with the camera. If I was a drinker, I would drink heavily when I get home! However, I knew our session had gone well and I would be able to produce wonderful images for them, but when you are chasing down kids, you can definitely leave feeling defeated.
So I thought I would do something I have not done before and at the end of the post I am going to show how I edit for a session that may have been challenging. Where we don’t have everyone looking in at the camera or smiling in one picture. But we still need to produce pictures!
