Jennifer emailed me about a month ago wanting to do family photos but said she was worried about her boys because they can get shy around strangers and they have a hard time getting shots of all four of them smiling and looking at the camera at once. Jen has taken lots of pictures of her boys, as she is a photographer as well (check her out if you want to be SMITTEN), so they have had some practice in front of the camera. I told her if we got some fun props to bring along maybe it would warm the boys up to me and make it feel more like they were just out at the park playing, than as if they were in a stark photography studio. This is something i try to accomplish with all of my shoots. By the end of it Nolan, her 2.5 kissed me and told me he loved me and you couldn’t ignore Ewan the 4.5 year olds laughter the whole time… i’d say i did my job.
