I have been meaning to post this session for a while, but have not had a chance until now.
At the beginning of the month I flew out to Denver to shoot a close family friend’s engagement session. I have known Matt since second grade. He was really good friends with my brother growing up. I think he was at our house more than his own, which makes him my honorary brother. I was so honored when he called me about shooting their wedding! Matt and Maggie work such opposite schedules and they really only had a few weekends together before their wedding, so when the only date that would work for all three of us happened to be the day before my two year anniversary, I didn’t hesitate to book my flight out there.
So on May 8th, I flew out to Denver, intending on staying there for the whole weekend. However, after our awesome session, while missing Christian and feeling guilty for being gone on our anniversary, I thought it might be fun to see if I could hop on a late flight to head home and surprise him. What I didn’t realize was the time on my computer was an hour behind because it was on California time. I asked Matt and Maggie what they thought and they were all for it. It was literally a thought and the next thing I knew we were driving down the freeway as I was purchasing my ticket on the phone. I made it home by 11:45pm May 8th. I flew for four hours and was only in Denver for six hours! At least we got some awesome shots!
I want to thank Matt and Maggie so much for indulging me in my last minute decision to fly home and for Matt driving like Mario Andretti in order to get me there on time!
